Who is it for?
This assertiveness at work course is for anyone who finds it challenging to be assertive in a positive, confident way when addressing colleagues. This might mean that you feel that you don’t have enough gravitas on the work floor, that your decisions are often overridden, or that you feel you are quite confrontational.
Individuals who are looking to attend this training course might find that they have difficulty saying ‘no’ to people and struggle to manage their workloads as a result. Through a lack of assertion, they may also find their ideas and opinions are being overshadowed by others.
It provides a general set of skills that will help learners become more assertive, no matter their job role or the challenges they face.
What is it about?
Many people find being assertive difficult and assume it’s a natural quality that can’t be taught. However that’s not the case. Assertiveness can be taught to anyone and this course demonstrates this theory by providing simple, effective and proven techniques that anyone can use to be more assertive both in and out of the workplace.
Learners on this course will discover how to make a positive change in their work and home lives by achieving the right balance of firmness and fairness. Learners assess their behaviour honestly in a safe, supportive environment and then create a realistic, effective plan for positive change, supported by an expert facilitator. Everyone attending this course will learn how to say no effectively, give and receive criticism in a fair, productive way and recognise and overcome anxiety.
